Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for this summer program, you must meet the following criteria:

Citizen or Permanent Resident

Completed Sophomore year (60 credits)

Have NOT graduated

Have a grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4 point scale).

Have a major relevant to HCI research. The majority of participants will have a computer-oriented major, such as Information Systems, Computer Science or Information Science. However, due to the multi-disciplinary nature of HCI research, students in fields such as cognitive or social psychology, industrial engineering and anthropology who have appropriate backgrounds and interests to contribute to HCI research should contact us () to determine their interests fit with the summer research projects.

Participants shall not contract for any form of employment while affiliated with the program.

As a NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduate site, a goal is to provide opportunities for students at colleges where they would not otherwise be able to experience research. Applications from under-represented minority groups, women and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
